Come Prepared
- Have your pilot licence available
- Make sure your logbook is up to date and available
- Have your logbook endorsement page with you
- Read through the SACAA test form or company OPC form for guidance and make sure you are familiar with the testing content and criteria
Examiner Privileges
Grade 1 (H) · DFE 1 (H)
As a Grade 1 (H) / DFE 1 (H), I am authorised to conduct tests for: PPL, CPL, ATPL, Instrument Rating, Instructors Rating, Game/Cull Rating, Winch Rating, Sling Rating, Night Rating, Agricultural Rating, OPCs and MCC.
Regulatory Conditions (SACAA CARS 61.26.08)
- When a skills test or revalidation check is to be conducted in a helicopter with a MCM of 3 175 kg or less, and the DFE holds the category rating but is not rated on the aircraft, the pilot to be tested must have a valid licence and be appropriately rated to act as PIC of the aircraft.
- For the purposes of conducting a revalidation check for an instrument rating in a multi-pilot aircraft, where the DFE does not hold the type rating, the flight crew must be appropriately rated and the DFE must hold the appropriate category rating and may not occupy a pilot seat.
- A DFE occupying a pilot seat as an examiner in a helicopter with a MCM in excess of 3 175 kg shall hold a valid type rating for the aircraft in which the test is being carried out.
